The GLUON HyperCommerce module for HyperPublishing is an easy-to-deploy and easy-to- customize eCommerce storefront solution for print service providers of all types. It is based on the open standards making it easy to deploy, understand and maintain. Of course, GLUON has added many important innovations into these base technologies that make this solution second to none. HyperCommerce is suitable for B2B, password-protected, approval workflow web portals as well as B2C open door solutions for all manner of consumer-oriented printed materials.

The HyperCommerce leverages all the advantages of the HyperPublishing System but adds a user-friendly, public-facing interface.

The HyperCommerce includes the following features:

  • Full-featured Admin — Makes it easy to add new products, set pricing, shipping methods, payment methods and many other aspects required to run an online store. Run reports or check to see what's selling and what's not, who's online and much more.
  • Super Easy Template Creation and Upload — Create and upload templates straight out of QuarkXPress or convert InDesign files. With an additional module, users can upload plain Quark documents and "templatize" then online.
  • StoreMaker™ Wizard — Easily spawn new portals for corporate customers to work with and order specific company materials.
  • Secure Login and Account Creation — Like any decent e-commerce solution, this allows your customers to manage their own accounts and orders in a normal and secure way. Corporate customers can login securely to access just the documents they are meant to see.
  • Dynamic Publishing Made Easy — You can offer customers a full selection of templates from different categories and sub-categories. They can then fill in their information, see the previews in real-time and order on the spot.
  • Conditional Text Filters — Easy-to-add, customizable filters to fields to enforce rules when needed such as proper phone number formats, email addresses, etc.
  • Upload to Print — Customers can upload their own finished designs and order printing accordingly by selecting sizes, paper stock, quantities, etc.
  • Seamless Template Switching — Customers can be working off one template and choose to switch to another related one without losing their work.
  • MyWorkSpace™ — Customers can retain and organize works in progress for extended sessions and also re-order the same thing or make a variation at a later time.
  • MyPictures™ — An intuitive picture management system allows customers to store and use their own images (up to allowed limits). You can also offer picture content to be used in publications either for free or attach charges to them. Integrates seamlessly with Facebook, Picassa and Flickr image services.
  • DirectEdit™ — This makes online publishing fun. Roll your mouse over a live preview, see boxes highlight and click on them to edit the document directly.
  • Mix Stock Items with Dynamic Publishing — You can sell ready-made items which are either publishing related or not along side your template-based offerings.
  • Multi-level Approval — We provide several different approval models:

    • Single-user for normal consumers to "Self-approve"
    • Content Multi-approver for corporate preapproval for editorial content. It can be configured so that "all" or "any" must approve for order to move forward.
    • Quantity Multi-approver for corporate preapproval of quantities triggered past a given threshhold. It can be configured so that "all" or "any" must approve for order to move forward.
  • Secure Ordering — Because this is based on OS Commerce, you can easily add tons of payment modules (and others) from all major credit cards, PayPal and more. If you have a VeriSign or other SSL Certificate, you're ready to go with 128 bit encryption.
  • Customize Look and Feel — Uses CSS style sheets for all design elements so colors, background graphics, fonts, etc. can be customized to your needs.
  • Press-ready PDF, Flash or Quark Output—At the end of the process, designated file servers can receive PDF's at any standard required for printing including: X-1a, X-3 or custom. Or if preferred, a collected Quark file with graphics and fonts, EPS, or Postscript file can be provided.
  • Secure FTP — Once orders are completed, press-ready PDFs can be scooped off the server directly or zipped up and FTP'd to an off-site print facility, complete with ordering information.
  • Based on Open Standards — We made sure to use technologies that are common and well-supported as well as low-cost. Technologies such as PHP, Flash, MySQL, Javascript, XML, OSCommerce with STS (Simple Templating System) all combine to make the system easy to deploy, customize and maintain.
  • XML Backbone — All HyperPublishing relies heavily on the open standard of XML so that the process of transferring critical information about templates and content is as understandable, flexible and efficient as possible.
  • HyperImage* — An online tool for non-destructively editing an image's metadata that travels with the image including Area of Interest, flipping, rotation and more.
  • HyperStyle* — This module enables the fine control of text on a character level. Fully control the font, size, scaling, color and position of individual letters.
