PROBLEM SOLUTION
Where's my CMYK option. As of version 6, all CMYK output must go through the Rasterizer until further notice.
Jobs are getting flushed in Distiller or other problems creating PDFs. While Distiller 4 can be used for many cases, depending on how settings are handles, we recommend Distiller 5.0 for the best results and least problems.
Vector art comes out jagged and unsatisfactory. If you have XPressImage 3.0 or higher on Mac, it comes with the XPI Rasterizer plug-in for Adobe Photoshop® 5 or higher and it solves this problem. This plug-in adds enormous power to XPressImage and is well worth the upgrade!
When I have pages in Quark that contain EPS with JPEG compression, the Rasterizer no longer works. Adobe can't parse the postscript file Quark makes with this type of EPS. You can see this by Saving as EPS directly in Quark and then try opening it in PhotoShop..no go
Using the Rasterizer plug-in and PhotoShop says it has a problem parsing the Postscript. This is most commonly caused by one of the fonts being used. Experiment with font substitution or make sure your fonts are Adobe fonts and you should have no problems. You can also try turning the text into outlines in Quark.
I installed the XPI Rasterizer Plug-in and when I export, nothing happens. Make sure you are using Adobe Photoshop®, version 5 or higher and restarted it with the plug-in in the plug-ins folder. Also, make sure to installed the XPI Action Set properly in the Actions Palette. DON'T check on the dialog function in the palette as this will cause a hangup.

The Actions Palette will only be permanently updated if you quit cleanly from PhotoShop. In other words, if you installed it went and worked somewhere and crashed, the Action Set needs to be reloaded. Also, make sure "Use XPI Rasterizer" is selected in the XPressImage dialog.
I get negative or messed up images or bizarre error messages about VRes and HRes Chances are you need more RAM allocated to XPress, especially for high res work. To test this, select a small area and export at high resolution. If it works but the whole page won't, then you need more RAM in Quark.
My GIFs have gray backgrounds where it should be white or the colors are too banded. Upgrade to 3.02 or higher.
I've done everything right and XPressImage doesn't show up in any menu You probably aren't running on a Power PC version of XPress. Either upgrade your XPress or your machine and XPress. Welcome to the future!
When I try to use the marquee tool, it immediately disappears and the dialog comes up with an empty preview. Then I crash. Chances are you have one of our competitors scaling tools. Their tools look for any "special" boxes that are created (like their marquee or XPressImage's) and assume it's theirs without checking (a very simple check suffices). We recommend taking advantage of our competitive upgrade to ProScale. It knows its boxes from others'.
